RETIRED POLICE CHIEFS
COME OUT FOR SCHAFFER
FOR CAPE MAY COUNTY
SHERIFF
Gary Schaffer
today announced that he recently received the endorsement in
his bid for the Sheriff’s seat from twenty two retired
police chiefs, representing decades of police executive
experience that served municipalities throughout Cape May
County. In their endorsement, the retired chiefs pointed to
Schaffer’s outstanding work ethic, management skills,
loyalty and devotion to the law enforcement field. They
said Schaffer stands as a standard and example of what they
wanted to find in every person filling a leadership position
in law enforcement.
Retired Cape May Police Chief Robert Boyd wrote, “The
management and leadership style you have exhibited as
Director of the Cape May County Public Safety Training
Center clearly and thoroughly demonstrates your ability to
get the job done. Working with various governmental
agencies, the Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders,
and the Cape May County Chiefs of Police Association, you
identified needs, set objectives, formulated a plan and
accomplished these objectives and goals. The end results of
your efforts, is the finest police training facility in the
State of New Jersey”.
“Now you have decided to redirect your professional career
to yet another arena within Public Safety in order to
continue to serve the citizens of Cape May County. We all
share the same total confidence that once elected Sheriff of
Cape May County you will once again focus your talents and
abilities to bring our Sheriff’s Department to a higher
level of professionalism and efficiency. We are confident
that you will continue the same professional relationships
you maintained during our various tenures as Chiefs of
