HarryHurley.com has learned and confirmed that a protest may occur at tonight's board meeting concerning two Muslim Holidays were removed from the school calendar.

The Holidays, along with  one Jewish Holiday were taken out this year, so that the required 180-day school calendar would be fullfilled, and, the end date of the school year would be competitive with area high schools.

There had been feedback that students would have a better chance to gain summer employment, by ending the school year three days earlier.

It had appeared that a deal had been worked out yesterday, but that seems to have broken down today.

People are expected to stage a vocal protest at tonight's regular Board meeting.
