Atlantic City…A comprehensive medical day-care organization
created to serve at risk and under served children will hold
its official Opening and Ribbon- Cutting Ceremony on
Thursday, September 18th, in Atlantic City. The event will
begin at noon at the site, formerly the location of
the outpatient services of the Children’s Seashore House.
Health care providers involved in the organization as well
as local dignitaries are expected to be in attendance.
Providence Pediatric Medical DayCare, Inc. (PPMD) is an
organization that provides very high quality care for
children ages newborn through preschool (age 5). It comes
under the regulation of the New Jersey Department of
Licensing formally known as the Department of Youth and
Family Service (DYFS). The clients of the service all come
as the result of a physician’s referral and all are in need
of skilled nursing services.
While under the care of PPMD, children receive their
prescribed medications and other services such as physical
therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, proper
nutrition under the care of a dietitian and pre-kindergarten
preparation under certified preschool teachers. Children
under the care of Providence Pediatric Medical DayCare
receive daily transportation. The entire procedure is funded
under the Medicaid program. Staff professionals and other
staff are bilingual.
The children are constantly under the care of skilled
pediatric nurses. Every 60 days the children are
re-certified for continued care by their own pediatricians.
