LETTER FROM ANDREW McCROSSON
HE'S AS CLASSY AN INDIVIDUAL AS YOU WILL EVER FIND
IN
GOVERNMENT.
THIS IS A BIG LOSS FOR VENTNOR
...
However, when I ran for the Ventnor City Commission
20 years ago, this was my announced plan to name
Sandra Biagi City Clerk & City Administrator -
Harry Hurley.
Drew McCrosson's letter as follows:
With the
adoption of Resolution No. 158 at tonight's Ventnor
City Commission meeting by the governing body my
tenure as Municipal Administrator comes to an end
December 31, 2008. It has genuinely been my pleasure
to serve the City of Ventnor City the past eight
years as Administrator, and it has been indeed my
pleasure to count myself among the fine employees -
often maligned - that do such a great job serving
the community. I believe that I have lived up to the
designation offered me by the prior administration,
"Wise and prudent steward of public funds", and I am
certain that many of our department heads and fellow
employees would simplify that to "Cheapskate
spending the City's money". The Commission, however,
as is their prerogative has indicated that they want
to proceed in a new direction and I wish them well
as they search for a new compass to guide them. It
was announced Thursday evening that the City Clerk
will be assuming the dual role of
Clerk/Administrator. It is certain that there will
be some interesting times ahead for the City of
Ventnor. Thank you all for eight years of
interesting challenges, unselfish ideas and
productive suggestions.
I would also like to thank Mayor Tim Kreischer for
his kind comments regarding my service to the City
at the meeting. As a CPA, a CGFM (certified
government financial manager) and one holding a
Masters degree in governmental accounting I felt
that I had the requisite tools to help guide the
City in these most difficult and increasingly
complex economic conditions. Unfortunately the
governing body apparently felt differently and as I
had indicated above I have been given the boot. Such
is the nature of the beast.
Best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a healthy and
happy holiday season.
Drew
