Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel's problems
in the illegal video taping of Atlantic City
Councilman Gene Robinson continue to mount.
Now,
the Atlantic County Pre-Trial Intervention
Program Coordinator has issued a
preliminary rejection of Councilman John
Schultz' application.
This
means in order for Schultz to receive entry into
PTI, Housel will have to do this himself ...
and, overturn the Coordinator's recommendation.
Housel
has looked suspicious in this case from the
beginning.
First
he said that he inherited the case from Jeff
Blitz ... which is not true. Only after being
pressed hard about this, did Housel correct the
public record on this point. Housel next said
that the Grand Jury did not indict for Official
Misconduct or other 2nd degree crimes.
The
"jury" ... and I use that word loosely here, is
still out on this point ... Because Housel is
hiding behind the "secret" nature of the Grand
Jury ... but, keep in mind Housel doesn't mind
saying that the Grand Jury didn't indict for
Official Misconduct ... Housel simply minds if
you ever find out if the Grand Jury was ever
asked to consider Official Misconduct or any
other 2nd degree charge.
Blitz
had filed 2nd degree charges before he left the
Prosecutor's Office.
Now,
yesterday, The Callaways were all required to be
in court ... But, once again, John Schultz was
not required to appear.
There
has been the appearance of preferential
treatment for Schultz from the beginning.
Also, this past June, Housel promoted in a news
release and invited the media to cover and
attend the court proceedings. But, yesterday,
the media was denied access, with no
communication as to why?
Housel
continues to behave like a perp in this case.
Still
to be decided ... whether the New Jersey
Attorney General will formally investigate
Housel and the way this case has been handled.
The
Attorney General certainly should open an
investigation into this matter.
