Ø                         THE GOLD FOUNDATION TO HOST MARGATE POP FESTIVAL 4

Ø                         WITH ADDED KID’S SHOW!

MARGATE, NJ, August 11, 2008

  Get ready to rock the night away on Sunday, August 24th, the Gold Foundation will host its annual summer concert, the Margate Pop Festival 4, and fireworks display along the Margate Bayfront.  The free concert will take place at 7 PM at Washington Avenue and the Bay, and will include a special children’s concert by ”The Dream Jam Band”.  Following the kids show will be special guest Peter Noone and Herman’s Hermits playing all of your favorite hits just like they played back in the 60’s on Steel Pier and to top it off, they will be introduced by none other than Mr. Ed Hurst, star of the “Steel Pier Show” for many, many years. Over 5,000 people are expected to attend and enjoy these two great shows. The shows will be followed by a spectacular fireworks display sponsored by Tomatoes Restaurant.  Over 30 businesses and professionals are sponsoring this event with additional sponsorship opportunities still available. This years sponsors to date include, Harrah’s Entertainment, Kool 98.3 Classic Hits, Atlantic City Linen, Midlantic Jet, Innovative Risk Solutions, Kline Construction and The Press of Atlantic City. The proceeds from the show will be distributed to various South Jersey charities.

Last year, the Gold Foundation organized three highly successful

fundraising events:  The Margate Pop Festival 3; the 20th Annual Gold

Invitational Golf Tournament held at the Linwood Country Club; and the

The Gold Foundation, started by Roy Goldberg, has raised over $2.2

Million for more than 85 local charities over the past 21 years.

Beneficiaries have included Catholic Social Services, The ARC of Atlantic County and Cumberland Counties, Manna, Gilda's Club, 21 Down's Syndrome, Special Olympics, Marine Corp Law Enforcement Foundation and many, many others.
