The Atlantic City Press waited until
almost midnight and still won't call
Langford the winner. In today's print
editions, they state that Langford is
leading, and that he (Langford) says
that his lead at the polls is
insurmountable.
Why won't The Press say that Langford's
lead is "insurmountable?"
Simple .. they just can't bring
themselves to do it. In their own
miniscule coverage, they have Scott
Evans (himself) admitTing that he has
1,000 absentee ballots. Evans conceded
that Langford has an absentee ballot
program.
Even if you give Evans a 1,000 AB's and
Langford ZERO ... Langford still wins
the election.
It was a great victory for Langford.
It's "Back-to-the-Future" in Atlantic
City. Langford earned and deserves this
sweet taste of victory. He
was unjustly defeated by a criminal
syndicate three years ago.
I am now officially calling for Scott
Evans to resign. Evans was illegitimate
from the moment the bogus and
politically corrupt process that
selected him in the first place.
Evans was placed in the appointed
position by the now defeated Craig
Callaway Atlantic City Committee
members, who had a 2-year term, which
now ends.
Evans should not make one more hiring.
He should not participate in anything
which involves taxpayers business or
dollars.
Evans should not one more promotion, or,
spend even one more penny.
I am predicting here and now that Evans
will not resign any time soon. He may
even stay until the November General
Election results are certified. Thank
God, that is that latest possible date
that Evans can serve. In case you didn't
know, Evans cannot serve past the
certification of the General Election
results.
However, Evans should do the right thing
for once, and, step aside. Let the new
Atlantic City Democratic Committee have
a legal, open and honest gathering ...
whereby they would nominate
3 candidates, one of them being Langford
and then City Council can install the
rightful Mayor of Atlantic City, within
the next week or two.
The Craig Callaway era is finally over
in Atlantic City. Atlantic City's 3-year
political nightmare is over!
Congratulations to the citizens of
Atlantic City, who have consistently
sent all Callaway-backed candidates
packing, whenever they have been given
the opportunity to go to the polls and
be heard.
Also, I was so pleased with our instant
election results that we provided at
HarryHurley.com.
I want to thank Beth Epstein for her
fabulous assistance. I was able to
provide real time results. We literally
owned the coverage and had the first
results at every turn ... and, I was
able to officially declare Langford the
winner at 9:19 p.m. last night.
We had thousands of readers check in. My
thanks and appreciation to a long-time,
good friend, Bill Pollock ... who stayed
on the phone with me for 1 1/2 straight
hours, as we delivered the only election
returns to the region for this pivotal
contest.
Mayor Langford has granted me the first
interview, which will take place later
this morning on "Hurley in
the Morning" ... WIBG 1020 AM
radio.
Finally, I am asking you to take a
moment today and read my weekly column
in The Current Newspapers. Humbly, I am
so proud of this column, because I wrote
it last Saturday morning. I made
various predictions about yesterday and
filed it before Election Day itself.
