Hamilton Republicans Choose
Richard DeFeo
to Run for Hamilton Township
Committee
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE,
Tuesday, June 30, 2009 . .
Richard DeFeo was chosen by
local Republicans to replace
Charles Pritchard on the
November General Election
ticket. DeFeo will run
alongside Charles Cain for
Hamilton Township Committee
in the fall Election.
DeFeo’s selection follows
the withdrawal of Charles
Pritchard from the race in
an official announcement
filed by Pritchard earlier
last week. DeFeo received
the Republican nomination
following a 3-hour meeting
Tuesday evening of the
party’s County Committee,
as dictated by Title 19
Election Law.
“I’m honored to have been
picked by the committee. It
was an interesting, honest
process. I’ve wanted to run
for some time now and I
can’t wait to serve the
community. I feel very
fortunate to have a running
mate like Charles Cain. We
both are eager to work
hard.”
“A
real display of unity and
genuine interest in the
community was on display
during this meeting,”
remarked Maureen Bugdon,
Hamilton Municipal
Chairperson. “Charles Cain
and Rich DeFeo will make a
very formidable team and I
believe they’ll be
victorious in November.”
“My biggest thrill was to
see the process unfold
fairly and openly,” said
Charles Cain. “We had 3
quality candidates and I am
proud to run with Rich DeFeo.
He’s a great person who has
dedicated his life to public
service. We will be a team
that will run a spirited
campaign.”
“After sitting in on this
meeting as a member of the
public, I saw a system that
works. All 3 candidates had
the opportunity to express
their thoughts and ideas and
the Municipal Committee
listened and made very good
choice,” remarked former
Mayor John Sacchinelli and
President of the Hamilton
Township Republican Club.
DeFeo and Cain will run
against local Democrats for
a 3-year term on Township
Committee.
DeFeo is a 20-year resident
of the Township and resides
in the Laureldale section of
Hamilton with his wife,
Karen. He has 4 grown
children and is the
President of local business
Decks Plus. DeFeo is best
known locally for his work
as Founder and President of
the Buddy Ball Sports
League.
