Harry Hurley Golf Tournament Donates
$11,000.00 to DRCF |
The Dean Randazzo Cancer Foundation was a
beneficiary of the Hurley in the Morning 2nd
Annual Golf Open. On Friday, June 19, 2009,
the tournament was played at Mays Landing
Country Club. Harry Hurley chose 4 charities
to share in the proceeds of the golf
tournament. We were one of the four.
The Tournament was gifted one of the only
non-rainy days in the entire month of June.
If you recall, this was the same period of
time the US Open was being played just north
of us in New York and that tournament was
plagued with bad weather.
The DRCF placed a foursome in the event -
Adam Walcoff, John Jackson, Dan Cellucci and
Tom Sullivan. Additionally, Trustee Jon
Baker played in the event as well, but
shunned our improbable four-some. The DRCF
team placed 2nd in the tournament over-all
with a score of 11 under par, and
represented well. We even got to join up
with a 5th, 2003 Superbowl Champion
Tight-End Fred Baxter of the New England
Patriots.
On July 9, 2009, I appeared live, on-air
with Harry Hurley at which time he presented
me with a check for the Foundation in the
amount of $11,000.00, an incredible feet
considering that FOUR charities benefitted
in this same amount.
A huge thank you to Harry Hurley for naming
us as a beneficiary and all of the many
sponsors and participants in the event. It
is a real stamp of legitimacy when we are
receiving 5-figure donations for the work
that we do.
