Atlantic City teacher Kofi Ariemiokai was
originally recommended for non-renewal.
Of the
13 original non-renewals, only Ariemiokai was
reissued a new contract from the Board of
Education.
Ariemiokai has signed a complaint with the
Mullica Township court, against Uptown School
Complex Principal LaKeisha Hyman, Floyd Talley
and Thomas Fords.
Ariemiokai alleges in 3 charges of extortion and
threats.
Municipal Court Judge Henry "Bud" Broome has
scheduled a Probable Cause Hearing regarding
these charges for Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at
10:30 a.m.
After
the hearing, Judge Broome may dismiss the
charges, continue the charges or refer them to
another law enforcement agency.
Ariemoiokai alleges that Talley offered him
assurance that he could get his teaching
position back for a fee of $ 800.
Within
one month's time or less, Ariemiokai went from
non-renewal recommendation status ... to being
re-hired. He is the only non-renewal (of 13
total) to be reinstated.
Despite
the fact that Ariemiokai went earlier to the
Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office ... He
decided to file the local charges anyway.
