WILL EVANS RUN THIRD?

By Benjamin Dover

NJ Casino News

A new poll by APEX Survey Research of North Tonawanda, New York, has conducted a new poll in the Atlantic City's Mayor's race which shows former City Manager, Dominic Capella, cutting in to the votes of Mayor Scott Evans leaving former Mayor Lorenzo Langford with a comfortable lead in the three-way race.

Langford is able to command almost 80% of the African American vote while Capella now leads Evans among White voters 42% to 31%. Langford scores 12% of the White voters.

Voter concern about a settlement between Langford and the City has faded as an issue as Langford has increased his percentage of the African American vote from 62% to 79.8% in the last two weeks.

"Absent the indictment of a campaign official in Langford's camp in the days just before the election, Langford is now favored to win," said Craig Millis, Director of Polling Research for APEX.

APEX Survey Research has worked for Democratic candidates and committees as well as commercial clients including Moe's rent-a-car, K-mart, Visa and National Beverage.
