“Aren’t we all
tired of the corruption?”
Four Atlantic City
Republicans to Announce Candidacies
Jesse O. Kurtz is
announcing his mayoral candidacy and Lan Dang, Sharon
Zappia, and Bob Willman are announcing their City
Council At-Large candidacies this Saturday, 21 March, at
9:30am, at Thanh Lan Café, 198 North California Avenue,
in Atlantic City.
Atlantic City
Republicans are running a full slate of citywide
candidates this year, for the first time in recent
memory. “Our high property taxes are a result of the
continual tax increases caused by Atlantic City's
elected Democrats,” says Jesse O. Kurtz. Kurtz
continues, “Every recently indicted or arrested Atlantic
City politician has been an elected Democrat.”
The Republican
candidates will visit voters every day from now until
Election Day asking the question, “Aren’t we all tired
of the corruption?”
The Kurtz ticket
will promote two main ideas through the course of the
campaign:
1 – Lower taxes by
cutting government spending. The 2010 budget will be
at least ten percent less than the budget adopted
this year.
2 – Reduce
corruption through transparency. Every government
contract and salary will be placed in a database on the
city’s website. Citizens will be able to see how and
where every single tax dollar is spent without the
hassle or expense of the OPRA (Open Public Records Act)
process.
These four fresh
candidates offer a clear contrast to the corrupt,
Democrat-dominated city politics. Kurtz, Dang, Zappia,
and Willman have the advantage of being political
outsiders. They are not mixed up in the current web of
political corruption. The Republican candidates look
forward to having their integrity, hard work ethic, and
new faces resonate with voters. Hard working citizens,
rather than career politicians, are a better choice to
represent the people in Atlantic City's government.
