DEMOCRATS TAKE
CREDIT FOR RAISING
CAMPAIGN CASH
FROM UNDISCLOSED SOURCES
Democrat
Freeholder Candidates today issued a laughable press
release taking credit for raising thousands of dollars
in undisclosed political contributions, prompting the
following response from County Republican Chair Keith
Davis and the Republican Freeholder ticket:
“This is the first
time in Atlantic County’s history that a group of
political candidates has ever called attention to how
much campaign cash they’ve raked in. It’s the dumbest
political move I’ve ever seen,” Davis said. “The only
substantive comment the Democrats have uttered in this
campaign is that they raised a lot of money from
undisclosed sources. Atlantic County voters are tired
of the Democrats’ dirty, expensive and wasteful
campaigns. But it looks like that’s what we’re going to
get from the Democratic Freeholder candidates this year
again.
“We are used to
the Camden County Democratic Machine’s money here in
Atlantic County and there is one thing Republicans here
have learned all too well: the Atlantic County Democrats
will always out-spend us, but they will never out-work
us for the taxpayers of Atlantic County,” said Davis.
“This release is bankrupt of any real ideas for the
people of Atlantic County. It says nothing of the
property taxpayers and businesses who are suffocating
under Governor Jon Corzine’s disastrous tax and economic
policies that have caused unemployment in our county to
jump to above 11%. Instead of focusing on the issues
Atlantic County cares about, they instead trumpet the
fact that they have a lot of money to spend on their
campaign --- just like Corzine will do. What a joke.”
“We are proud of our record on the Freeholder Board and
are enjoying our many campaign stops throughout Atlantic
County where we are focusing on voters’ concerns, not
campaign donors,” said Freeholders Frank Giordano and
Jim Curcio. “With the leadership of County Executive
Dennis Levinson, we have worked together in holding the
line on property taxes and still funding critical
services for our seniors and veterans.”
“I very much look
forward to joining Freeholders Giordano and Curcio on
the Board,” said Candidate Frank Formica. “They have a
proactive record of accomplishment for Atlantic County
--- from the windmill farm and solar panels at the ACUA
to the additional investment we see at the Atlantic
County Institute of Technology and the new FAA Tech
Park, both of which will create more jobs here. I look
forward to bringing my extensive business experience as
the owner of a successful bakery to help the entire
county.”
