Atlantic City Race Course
Recognized in TOP 10 by
Horseplayers Association of
North America
Hamilton Township, NJ … For Immediate Release, Friday April
9, 2010 …
The Atlantic City Race Course is proud to announce its
recent recognition by the Horseplayers Association of North
America (HANA) as a Top 10 Track for the horseplayer.
Atlantic
City Race Course, located in
Hamilton Township is the only New
Jersey track recognized in the Top 10. Monmouth Park in
Oceanport was ranked 34th of the 69 tracks making
the cut. The honor is a proud achievement for ACRC and
track officials credit another achievement - ACRC's
fullest fields in the country for the 3rd
consecutive year
– as a big part of the reason.
“We are incredibly honored by this recognition,” remarks
Maureen Bugdon, President of ACRC. “HANA’s ranking as #9,
puts AC Race Course alongside powerhouses like Keeneland,
Churchill,
Downs, Del Mar, and more. It’s a huge accomplishment for
South Jersey’s sole remaining racetrack and certainly puts
Atlantic County on the map when it comes to the horseplayer
nationwide."
The HANA website (www.horseplayersassociation.org)
details its national ranking formula on studies
and empirical data, handle growth, field size, wagering
variety, pool size and more. The tracks are ranked from one
to sixty nine. Bugdon additionally credits AC Race Course
famed turf
course as part of the mix. “Our grass course is still world
renowned and our fields are a direct testament to its
terrific shape and resilience. The 2010 HANA honor is
particularly energizing as we prepare for next week’s
Thoroughbred Turf Festival,” she says. “It’s a great
kickoff to another exciting presentation of live
thoroughbred racing at the
Jersey Shore.”
Atlantic City Race Course hosts year-round simulcasting and
a 6-day Turf Festival each year at the Mays Landing
racetrack. This year’s live racing program begins Sunday,
April 18th and continues
through Saturday, April 24th. First post daily
is 3:30pm.
