The video of the traffic stop of Hamilton
Township (Atlantic County)
Deputy Mayor Charles Cain will be released at
2:00 p.m. today, March 11, 2011
The following is a public statement I have received
from Deputy Mayor Cain
as follows:
"I am relieved this issue is over; we opposed the
release of this video
initially because of the unfairness of the Hamilton
Township Police
Department releasing it to the local newspaper
before they provided it to us in
discovery. The tape will show that the written
Police Report that was already
released to the newspaper and the Video describe two
different events. The
video does not show erratic driving. It does
show that I could not have
been driving at the speed the Officer said. It
doesn't show Shouting,
Rambling, Cursing or crying. It does show that
the Officers did not follow
Procedures. This video makes you question what
the motivation of the Officers
was for making this stop. Is this another
example of Police Intimidation in
the Political Process? I look forward to my day in
court and I believe this
videotape will be a key piece of evidence in
exculpating me."
