has also confirmed
that the Atlantic County Board of Chosen Freeholders has also been advised
of
Levinson's executive decision.
Levinson's rationale behind the move is his confidence in Governor
Christie's management of state department and the fact that this
department is not
mandated by law to exist at the county level.
Levinson also based this decision on Governor Christie's doctrine of
government reducing taxpayer expenses whenever/wherever possible.
The disbandment of this function will represent approximately
$ 150,000 a year in savings to the taxpayers.
Those citizens who require service in the area of consumer affairs will be
directed to the New Jersey department of Community Affairs for
assistance.
